Awards

The submission deadline has been extended to Sept. 11. Read below for judging criteria and category information. All entries must include a photo of the entry or graphic representing the entry for the awards slide show. This year we are accepting award entry fee payment by check only.

Judging criteria
All entries will be judged on meeting their stated purpose; quality; content; layout; regard for target audience; and overall impression as well as the use of the specific medium. Entries can be either in print or digital form unless otherwise stated.

CATEGORY I: Publications
How to enter your print publication:
Newsletters, newspapers and magazines - include 3 consecutive issues.
Special publications - include all copies produced between August 2008 and August 2009.
Special Section or Supplement - include copy of that publication.

CATEGORIES

A. Newsletter - A publication, typically with a small circulation, that contains brief news and reports; announcements; and other special interest information relating to a specific audience.
B. Newspaper - A publication that is issued regularly and usually printed on newsprint. Newspapers include current original news articles, editorials, regular columnist, feature articles, and may include advertising.
C. Magazine - A periodical containing a collection of articles, stories, pictures, or other features. Magazines are usually formatted with a center folded and are bound.
D. Special Publication - Any publication printed four times or less a year.
E. Special Section or Supplement - A one-time publication covering a specific issue or event.

CATEGORY II: Internet
How to enter your internet work:
Website, Blog, Social Media include web address on entry form
e-newsletter – include CD of HTML copies of 3 consecutive newsletters or web address of archived newsletter and list the dates of the 3 consecutive issues you want judged.
Electronic Publication – Include web address or copy on CD.

CATEGORIES

A. Website
B. BLOG (web log) - A website, journal, or blog that contains entries in reverse chronological order (most recent first). It may be created by one or multiple persons and may include feedback from readers.
C. e-Newsletter - A digital or web version of a newsletter, contains brief news and reports; announcements; and other special interest information relating to a specific
D. Social Media online content - created by people using highly accessible and scalable publishing technologies such as Facebook, Myspace, or Twitter.
E. Electronic Publication - any publication that is created and distributed electronically.

CATEGORY III. VIDEO
How to enter your video or film:
Include a copy of the work on DVD, S-VHS or VHS tape, or provide a specific website address to the video or stream.

A. In-House Production - Costing less than $3000
B. Out Sourced/In-House Production - Costing more than $3000
C. Television
D. Streaming Video / Live Production
E. News Story

CATEGORY IV. AUDIO
How to enter your audio work:
Include a copy of the work on CD, DVD or provide a specific website address to the audio production. If you are entering a digital audio file please note the format of the audio file.

B. Podcast or Internet stream

CATEGORY V. PUBLICITY AND ADVERTISING
How to enter your publicity/advertising work:
Campaign - Include samples of all pieces of the campaign. If entering digital files, please note what specific file format you are entering.
Single - Include a copy of the brochure in its distributed format, either print or digital (please note the specific digital file format).

CATEGORIES:

A. Campaign – includes multiple pieces in different media working together
B. Single – a one piece work in either print or electronic format

CATEGORY VI. PHOTOGRAPHY
How to enter your photography work: 
Include the image(s) either in on a CD or URL to the uploaded image with a width of no less than 1000 pixels as a jpg. A physical print my be sent as either a 5x7 or 8x10.

CATEGORY VII. VISUAL DESIGN
How to enter your print publication:
Artwork – include original or copy of the artwork in the medium in which it was created.
Print Design – Include a copy of the print publication.
Internet Design – Include an html file of the work or a specific web address to reach the work.
Motion Graphics – Include a digital file of the work (please note the specific digital file format) or a specific web address to reach the work.

CATEGORIES

A. Artwork – This includes any piece of artwork digital or otherwise.
B. Print Design – This includes any print publication such as newsletter, newspaper,
magazine, brochure, etc.
C. Internet Design – This includes websites blogs and e-newsletter.
D. Motion Graphics – This includes any animated computer generated graphics such as Flash presentations and animated logos.

CATEGORY VIII. WRITING
How to enter your writing:
Include a print copy of the writing. For internet entries you may also include a specific web address to reach the entry online.

CATEGORIES:

A. Fiction Story – Any piece of writing that is of fiction.
B. Non-Fiction Story –writing that is of non-fiction expect for op/ed or news.
C. Opinion/Editorial - a newspaper or magazine article that gives the opinions of the editors or publishers.
D. News - objective article written about an event or situation.

CATEGORY VIII. Media Presentation
How to enter your language communication work:
Include a copy of Multimedia project on CD, DVD, specific website address or other appropriate medium.

CATEGORIES
A. Slide Show – Any presentation that have multiple slides, frames or, images (powerpoint, keynote, media shout, etc..)
B. Multi-Media – this includes any work that uses two or more types of non-printed media.
C. Display Table – Any type of public display for a specific group or concept.

CATEGORY C. Strategic Planning
How to enter your Strategic Planning Work:
Include a written copy of your plan.
